Component Test

The component test service allows for control of on-board-diagnostic system or component tests.

Component test is an advanced diagnostic functionality that keeps track of emission control components, mechanical components and electrical systems. Component test service accesses the actual self-test data that is used by the OBDII system to detect faults.

The Test IDs (TID) are defined by the manufacturer for various tests and the test component mode provides the monitoring test result values and faults limits for a given test.

Check Engine's component test result module provides the details on what component/monitoring system has failed and by how much. The module can also be used to verify issues as fixed.

The component test report provides information on system test and statuses, test results, components and test values.

For safety reasons it is highly recommended to not execute a component test while the vehicle is in motion. Test results should be executed only when the conditions are suitable. The below message indicates that there may be no test results available or the available test results are not up to date.
